Who We Are

  • Our centre is owned by parents of young children with strong backgrounds in Early Childhood Education. They understand the needs of both children and teachers and are committed to providing high-quality care and education.

Our well-trained management team focuses on “seeing each child,” allowing teachers to spend more meaningful time with children. We offer a wide range of activities and events to support each child’s development while respecting and celebrating the diverse cultures and backgrounds of our families.

  • Three Kings Early Learning Centre is committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment, where children develop a sense of belonging and create a healthy, happy, and secure approach to learning and living with peers.

We strive to meet the children’s individual needs with love, patience, and understanding Three Kings ELC education approach is child-led and play-based.

As educators, our role is not to teach – children are capable and wonderful little people – but to help them learn. By tuning into a child’s unique curiosities, we are in a position to create deep learning opportunities for them.

Our teachers believe in creating a trusting relationship with our children so that they are confident in making their learning choices.

We believe in providing rich stimulating learning experiences that challenge and caters to our children’s interest and needs. Our intention as teachers is to inform and plan children’s learning by using Te Whāriki as our foundation of learning as well as incorporating Te Tiriti o Waitangi into our daily practice.

Children are acknowledged as individuals, and their mana and wairua (well-being), personal capabilities, cultural backgrounds, and learning styles are encouraged and respected.

  • Our goal is to give each child a warm environment that encourages development of social skills, independence, and a positive self-image. Our experienced kaiako (teachers) acknowledge and embrace children as individuals and believe that children bring in their own taonga (uniqueness and giftedness). Our aim is to create a trusting relationship with children and whakamana (empower) children to make their own independent choices, where they get to work towards their problems and solutions and express their feelings freely.

We’re proud to be part of the Three Kings community! Our children and team regularly visit Three Kings School, local parks and library, and other neighborhood spots. Many of our children even attend the same school, making our connection to the community even stronger.

Early childhood education based on individual needs

We believe that children learn naturally through play and we aim to foster each child’s individual social, physical, intellectual and cultural wellbeing. Our programme follows Te Whàriki, the National Early Childhood Curriculum document, which aims to ensure that children:

"Grow up as confident, competent learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valuable contribution".

At Three Kings ELC, children experience a safe and nurturing environment with routines that match those they follow at home to make them feel comfortable as well as new experiences to challenge them and help them develop new interests and skills.

Children are also encouraged to develop social skills and understand the dynamics of group relationships growing in confidence and showing respect and responsibility.
